The residential complex Pramergasse 30 is a council in the 9th Viennese district of Alsergrund .
history
In Red Vienna between the wars produced numerous municipal residential buildings, 13 of which at Alsergrund. The residential complex at Pramergasse 30 (with identity address Rossauer Lände 21) was built between 1929 and 1930 according to plans by the architect Karl Schmalhofer instead of the house Zur eisernenkette , which was built in 1783 and whose name is based on a legend. It originally comprised 96 residential units. In 1952 the loft was extended, and four more apartments were created by converting laundry rooms. In the following decades, the number of residential units fell to 91 due to the merging of apartments. In the course of a general renovation carried out from 2004 to 2006, doors and windows were renewed, the roof was newly covered and a thermal insulation composite system was attached to the facade. In addition, elevators were added to the street and courtyard.
General
The listed ( list entry ) residential complex is bounded on the north by the Pramergasse and in the east of the Rossauerlände. To the south it borders on Wilhelminian style houses from the 1870s, to the west on a new building erected after 1945. The five-storey building comprises 6 staircases, which are grouped around two inner courtyards, has a cubic structure and makes a constructivist overall impression.
