Eisersdorf residential tower
The residential tower Eisersdorf ( Polish Wieża mieszkalna w Żelaźnie ) is a medieval residential tower in Żelazno (German Eisersdorf ) in the powiat Kłodzki ( Glatz district ) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . Historically Eisersdorf belonged to the County of Glatz . The residential tower is east of the parish church.
history
The building was erected as a defense tower at the end of the 14th century and at that time belonged to the Eisersdorfer Freirichtergut . Fire signals could be given from the top floor to the Hummelschloss and Karpenstein Castle . In 1689 the entrance portal was redesigned in Baroque style, another renovation took place in 1727. In 1966 the building was restored.
The quarry stone tower has a rectangular floor plan. There are loopholes and remains of a lavatory dungeon in the facade walls . The gable roof is covered with shingles . Today the tower has been reconstructed with a half-timbered tower cantilevered on hanging trestles and a pyramidal bent helmet .
