Kink helmet

In architecture, the articulated helmet is the variant of a pointed helmet - roof shape (also spire, helmet roof, roof helmet, largely used synonymously) for towers with a polygonal floor plan . This roof shape is often found on church towers .

In the case of the buckled helmet, the edges of its base on the top of the wall of the tower shaft rise at a relatively flat angle like a tent roof , then "bend" and taper upwards several times higher at a steep angle.

Four sided approach

Examples of spiers with late Gothic buckled helmets, the four-sided approach sitting flush with the upper wall with a narrow cornice and so evenly overhangs the tower shaft a little, while the roof parts tapering towards the top are also different, e.g. B. can change into an octagonal shape:
