Wojtowe ( Ukrainian Войтове ; Russian Войтово Woitowo ) is a village in the east of the Ukrainian Kiev Oblast with 780 inhabitants (2016).
history
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1640, had 849 inhabitants in 1787, 1564 in 1896 and 1049 in 2001. Until 1927 was called the village Wojtowe and then in honor of the Bolshevik revolutionary and Soviet Ambassador Pyotr Lazarevich Voikov ( Пётр Лазаревич Войков ; in 1888-1927) Woikowe renamed. In the course of decommunization in Ukraine , the village was given its old name back in 2016. The remains of the Cucuteni-Tripolje culture from the 2nd millennium BC were found near the village . The village has an architectural monument with the Orthodox St. Nicholas Church, built in Classical style in 1790 and rebuilt in Empire style around 1832 .
Geographical location
Wojtowe is the administrative center of the 38.806 km² district council of the same name in the west of Shuriwka Rajon , to which the village of Sofijiwka ( Софіївка , ⊙ ) with about 270 inhabitants belongs.
The village is located at an altitude of 126 m on the bank of the Nedra ( Недра ), a 61 km long left tributary of the Trubisch , about 20 km west of the Shuriwka district center and 84 km east of the state capital Kiev .
Territorial road T – 10–24 runs through the village .
