Wolf-Dieter Firnhaber

Wolf-Dieter Firnhaber (born April 19, 1934 in Feldberg (Mecklenburg) ; † February 22, 1981 ) was a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Wiesbaden, Wolf-Dieter Firnhaber did a commercial apprenticeship in 1955 and then studied economics .

From 1968 he worked as managing director at the Protestant deanery association Wiesbaden. At the same time he was a volunteer in the Heliand Scouting Society and was a member of the Heliand Brotherhood until his death.

politics

Wolf-Dieter Firnhaber had been a member of the CDU since 1964 and was active there in various board positions.

From December 5, 1972 until his death in 1981 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament.

Mister ten percent

Wolf-Dieter Firnhaber had been involved in the Protestant Church since 1949. Since 1969 he has been organizing the “Mister Ten Percent” campaign, which has attracted nationwide attention. An unknown patron offered to donate 10% of his income (corresponding to the biblical tithing ) for social issues if there were at least ten others who also donated 10% of their income. Thanks to Firnhaber's public relations work, this always succeeded.
