Wolf-Georg rings

Wolf-Georg rings (born October 24, 1976 in Hamburg ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

From 1998 to 2004 he studied law in Passau , Lausanne , Bonn and Oxford ( M.Jur. 2004). After completing his doctorate in 2006 at the University of Bonn , he worked as a research assistant in Bonn ( Daniel Zimmer ) and at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law ( Klaus J. Hopt ). After his legal clerkship in Hamburg from 2004 to 2006, he was a lawyer in Hamburg in 2007 . From 2007 to 2012 he taught as a Lecturer in Law at the University of Oxford (Christ Church). From 2012 to 2017 he was Professor of International Commercial Law at Copenhagen Business School . Since 2017 he has been Professor of Economic Analysis of Law and Director of the Institute for Law and Economics at the University of Hamburg . He also teaches as a permanent visiting professor at the University of Oxford.

His main research interests are corporate and capital market law , financial market regulation , law & economics , insolvency law , private international law and European law . Rings is Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) in Brussels and Fellow of the European Banking Institute (EBI), Frankfurt am Main.
