Wolf-Walther du Mont

Wolf-Walther du Mont (born February 5, 1945 in Celle ) is a German chemist. He was a professor at the Institute for Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry at the TU Braunschweig .

Life

After his school days in Celle and Würzburg , Wolf-Walther du Mont studied chemistry at the University of Würzburg from 1966 to 1971 (graduated in 1971 with a diploma thesis with Professor I. Schumann). He completed his doctoral thesis on multidentate and multifunctional organometallic phosphines from 1972 to 1974 in Herbert Schumann's group at the University of Würzburg , where he also received his doctorate . From 1972 to 1977 du Mont worked as a research assistant at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin). He then received a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation until 1978 . In 1978 he was appointed assistant professor, completed his habilitation with a thesis on stannylene and stannylene complexes, and was appointed private lecturer at the TU Berlin. During the period from 1976 to 1980 several research stays at the State University of New York , Albany, New York with Jerold J. Zuckermann . In 1980, the TU Berlin appointed du Mont as a university assistant . In 1981, du Mont followed a call to the University of Oldenburg . He stayed there until 1991 as a professor of inorganic chemistry . From 1988 to 1990 he was dean of the chemistry department. In 1991, Wolf-Walther du Mont was appointed professor for inorganic and analytical chemistry at the Technical University of Braunschweig , where he worked until his retirement . From 1997 to 1999 he was Dean of Faculty 3 (Chemistry and Pharmacy).
