Wolfgang Bodenbender

Wolfgang Bodenbender (born December 14, 1935 in Wiedenbrück ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Bodenbender worked as an unskilled worker in weaving mills and furniture factories from 1951 and did an internship at the AWO in Altenessen in 1955. Then Bodenbender completed an apprenticeship as a state-certified welfare worker. From 1959 to 1961 he worked as a welfare worker for the city of Offenbach am Main and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt in Duisburg . He did his Abitur through the Berlin College. He then studied political science and social sciences at the University of Frankfurt am Main from 1961 to 1968 , where he graduated as a social scientist and in 1970 he was awarded a Dr. rer. pole. did her doctorate on the topic of the financing problems of non-profit social institutions .

Professional activities

As an advisor to the SPD parliamentary group , he was responsible for social policy. In the federal government he worked as a sub-department head for social policy from 1973 before he was promoted to department head for labor market policy in the federal government in 1979. From 1983 to 1988 Bodenbender was managing director of the AWO district association Western Westphalia. From 1988 to 1997 he was State Secretary in the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. He was later head of the Society for Organizational Consulting in the Sozialen Arbeit mbH (GOS) Berlin, where he works as a senior expert.

Bodenbender is married to a teacher and has two children, including the actress Silke Bodenbender .
