Wolfgang Fisel (born December 28, 1963 ) is a former German soccer player . The offensive player played for SSV Ulm in 1846 in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Athletic career

Fisel comes from the youth of TSG Ehingen from Ehingen an der Donau . In 1984 he moved to FV Biberach , for the club he played in the third-class Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . In the season 1985/86 he missed the league with the team in fourth from last place in the table, but had attracted attention with 15 goals this season. The upper league champions SSV Ulm 1846, who prevailed in the subsequent promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga as first in the table in front of FSV Salmrohr , then signed the player. Under player-coach Werner Nickel , he made his debut in the 2: 3 away win against Rot-Weiss Essen on the second match day of the second division season 1986/87 as a substitute for Marcus Sorg in professional football. In total, he played six second division games for the club, five of them as a substitute. Only in the 0-0 draw at FC St. Pauli on the eleventh match day he was in the starting line-up, but was exchanged for Sorg in the second half of the game.

Thereupon Fisel left the SSV Ulm again in 1846 and returned to the FV Biberach. After a year he moved to the top division SC Pfullendorf , with whom he missed relegation despite his twelve goals this season. After moving to 1. FC Pforzheim in the summer of 1989, he caused a sensation with his new club across Germany when the team in the DFB Cup 1989/90 after victories against the then second division SpVgg Bayreuth and the Bundesliga club VfL Bochum only reached the round of 16 Fortuna Düsseldorf had to give up with a 1: 3 defeat. In the Oberliga season 1990/91 he won the championship with the club - including before his ex-club SSV Ulm 1846 - and reached the promotion round to the second division. There, on the last day of the match, the decision was made in favor of TSV 1860 Munich , which had not lost after a 4-1 win and left the Baden representative, who had scored five points after two wins and a draw, with 9: 3 points . He had scored the same number of hits as in the previous year with seven goals this season. The successes could not be confirmed in the episode, under the former Bundesliga coach Manfred Krafft , the club slipped into the relegation battle in the following season - so that he was dismissed in February - and Fisel only scored three goals in the entire season. After he had scored a goal in 14 games in the first half of the Oberliga season 1992/93 , he spent the second half of the season at the Baden association league club VfR Ittersbach . At the end of the league season 1993/94 , in which he had played nine more games, he missed the qualification for the newly introduced third-rate Regionalliga Süd with the club .

Fisel later returned to Ehingen, where he was at times coach of the sports fans based in the Kirchen suburb . He took over the district league team in the relegation battle in October 2008, and at the end of the season he was able to stay up. In the following year, the team was in the back of the table, after he had announced his departure at the end of the season in April 2010, he missed relegation with the club in the relegation .
