Wolfgang Grimm

Wolfgang Grimm (* 1959 in Bad Tölz ; † September 28, 2007 in Regensburg ) was a German painter , freelance artist and art teacher.

Life

From 1977 to 1980 he trained as a technical draftsman . In 1981/82 he worked at the Academy for the Graphic Arts in Munich. In 1982 the AKU Academy for Constructive Nonsense was founded in Berlin. From 1984 to 1989 Grimm studied free painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.

In 1990 he received a diploma as a master class student from Professor Robin Page . In 1987 he was a founding member of KUNST-WERK e. V. in Regensburg and received a Julius F. Neumüller grant from the city of Regensburg. From 1990 to 1993 Grimm had a studio in Elmo / Italy. In 1994 he accepted a permanent position at the Regensburg Montessori School. There he was an art and craft teacher until his death. In 2002 he was a founding member of the art association GRAZ e. V. (Regensburg) and in 2003 involved in setting up a school of fantasy in Regensburg. Furthermore, Wolfgang Grimm was a speaker at the Art Therapy Working Group in Regensburg. Grimm died by suicide.

Media reports

In an obituary in the Mittelbayrische Zeitung, the journalist Helmut Hein described Grimm as one of the “most important East Bavarian artists of the last decades”, characterized him as a berserk, outlaw and nighthawk, who, however, was not an egoist and egomaniac, but capable and willing to cooperate, also "technically well trained". Helmut Hein's obituary: He didn't care about the prevailing rules. On the death of Wolfgang Grimm , the journal of the professional association of visual artists, Landesverband Bayern, 4/2007, p. 7 was printed. A report by Helmut Hein on the book “I'm back immediately! Wolfgang ”appeared in the Mittelbayerische Zeitung in 2009.
