Wolfgang Hübener (Philosophy Historian)

Wolfgang Hübener (born May 3, 1934 in Schwerin ; † March 16, 2007 in Hamburg ) was a German historian of philosophy .

From the winter semester of 1953/54 he studied German , philosophy and psychology at the Free University of Berlin . In 1960 he was with the dissertation Studies on the thinking of Martin Heidegger doctorate . From the winter semester 1960/1 to the winter semester 1967/8 (according to the course catalog) he taught as a research assistant at the seminar for Catholic theology at the Free University of Berlin. This was followed by his habilitation with the thesis Studies on the Theory of Cognitive Representation in Medieval Philosophy in 1969.

At the Free University of Berlin he taught philosophy in the areas of systematic philosophy of the Middle Ages and the early modern period as well as hermeneutics at the Institute of Philosophy (winter semester 1969/70 to winter semester 1996/7).
