Wolfgang Irtenkauf

Wolfgang Irtenkauf (born January 9, 1928 in Göppingen ; † November 22, 2003 ) was a German librarian .

Life

Wolfgang Irtenkauf studied Catholic theology , music and library science at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . In 1953 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. He then joined the state library service and was head of the manuscript department of the Württemberg State Library until 1988 . He published numerous writings on topics related to the culture and history of Württemberg. His successor as head of the manuscript department at the Württemberg State Library was Felix Heinzer .
