Wolfgang Kaden (journalist)

Wolfgang Kaden (born February 6, 1940 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German journalist. He was editor-in-chief of Der Spiegel and manager magazin .

Career

Kaden first studied economics and did a doctorate in the subject. In 1967 he became the personal assistant to the President of the State Parliament, John van Nes Ziegler, in North Rhine-Westphalia .

His journalistic career led him in 1968 to the international department of the news magazine Der Spiegel . From 1973 to 1976 he was head of the editorial team in Bonn. He then took over the management of the economic department in 1979 and the post of editor-in-chief in 1991. In 1994 Kaden switched to manager magazin , where he was also the editor-in-chief. In 2003, Kaden withdrew from the editor-in-chief and handed the position over to Arno Balzer . From then on, he was responsible for the magazine's TV activities. In the show manager magazin TV of the broadcaster XXP , he discussed markets, strategies, politics and personal matters with representatives from business.

Since 2016 Kaden has been working as a columnist for the business magazine " Bilanz ".

Kaden was a member of the jury for the Journalist of the Year 2014 award .
