Scott Frank

Scott Frank (born March 10, 1960 in Fort Walton Beach , Florida ) is an American screenwriter and director .

Life

Frank first appeared as a screenwriter in the late 1980s when he was writing the script for an episode of the television series Wonderful Years . In the same year the film Plain Clothes was made based on one of his scripts .

Frank was nominated for an Oscar for the script for Out of Sight (1998) . In 1998 he received a Boston Society of Film Critics Award for best screenplay . Frank also received an NSFC Award for the film, won an Edgar Allan Poe Award, and received a Writers Guild of America Award .

His screenplay for Minority Report (2002) earned him a Saturn Award for best screenplay .

In 2001 he made a one-off appearance as a producer and took part in the drama The Caveman's Valentine .

Frank made his debut as a director in 2007 with the thriller The Rules of Violence . This work was followed by an award at the Independent Spirit Awards 2008 . In 2011 Frank directed an episode of the television series Shameless . In 2014 the film Rest in Peace - A Walk Among the Tombstones followed , for which he also wrote the script. As a writer, executive producer and director was involved in the series Godless (2017).
