Wolfgang Klüpfel

Wolfgang Klüpfel (born May 30, 1925 - April 30, 2008 ) was a German manager and from July 1, 1970 to July 1, 1986 President of the Badischer Sparkassen- und Giroverband.

Life

As chairman of the board of directors of the Badische Kommunalen Landesbank (BaKoLa), Wolfgang Klüpfel fought until his retirement in 1986 to maintain the Mannheim location against the plans of the state government to merge BaKoLa with the Württembergische Kommunalen Landesbank (WüKoLa) in Stuttgart. In addition, during his professional career he was among other things chairman of the administrative boards of Badische Landesbausparkasse Karlsruhe and the public insurance company of the Badische Sparkassen Mannheim .

On May 20, 1986, Klüpfel received the Great Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Knüpfel is the first author of several standard works on the savings bank system and on inheritance, which have been published in several editions by Sparkassenverlag .
