Wolfgang Kostujak

Wolfgang Kostujak (born February 4, 1968 in Bremen ) is a German musician and music historian . He lives on the Lower Rhine. In addition to his concert activities as a harpsichordist and organist , he dedicates himself to editorial projects and works as a journalist and lecturer.

Life

After his school days in Bremen and organ lessons with church music director Wilfried Langosz , Wolfgang Kostujak completed studies in historical keyboard instruments with Ludger Rémy and music theory with Silvio Foretic at the Folkwang University in Essen / Duisburg. He then studied in the class of Bob van Asperen at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, the artistic major subject of harpsichord , which he graduated in 1996 with a degree of Uitvoerend Musicus . His concert activities as a solo and as an ensemble musician have taken him to China, Poland, Russia, Latin America and most Western European countries.

Since 1998 he has been teaching at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, initially in the field of historical keyboard instruments . Since 2009 he has also supervised a permanent series of lectures on historical performance practice . He has been a full-time lecturer since 2015.

Since 2002, Wolfgang Kostujak has regularly published new prints of old chamber music in cooperation with various publishers and publishes monographic articles on early music in German-language specialist magazines. In addition, he appears as the author of musical themed programs and reports for various public broadcasters .
