Wolfgang Ludwig Werner

Wolfgang Ludwig Werner (born January 21, 1953 ) is a German tropical researcher and adjunct professor of biogeography at the University of Heidelberg .

Life

From 1978 onwards, he worked at Heidelberg University, initially as an assistant and lecturer , then as an adjunct professor at the South Asia Institute (Geography Department). He worked at the University of Freiburg from 1990/1991, 1992 to 1994 and 1995/1996 at the University of Eichstätt . In between he taught in 1993 as a visiting scholar at Harvard University . In 1996 he taught at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and in 1999 at the Institute of Technology in Bandung , and in 1999/2000 at the Technical University of Darmstadt . After working at the Center for Development Research in Bonn in 2003, the University of Heidelberg appointed him as a substitute professor for geography at the South Asia Institute in October 2004, which he remained until February 2006. From 2006 to 2016 he taught at a private school. In addition to his mountain forest research, he was increasingly concerned with natural disasters and climate change.
