Life

As a teenager, Wolfgang Oldag helped out at Halle theaters as an extra and extra. Against his parents' wishes, he took acting lessons. After completing his training, he went to the theater in Zittau for a year . He then teamed up with a number of freelance actors to form the theater in a suitcase troupe and went on tour; In view of the 25 performances per month, it made its way to almost all places in the former Soviet Zone .

In 1952, Oldag met the actress Anneliese Dahms , who had lived as a refugee in Denmark from 1942 to 1947. The two married in 1956 and later worked together occasionally at the Moritzburg TV theater in Halle (Saale) , where Oldag had been assistant director since 1968 .

Between the 1970s and the early 1980s, Oldag was seen more frequently as an actor in productions by the "TV Theater Moritzburg" (see "Filmography"). He became known from 1980, however, with a height of 1.63 meters, above all as the "little one" of the comedian duo Oldigs , which he formed together with the 1.92 meter tall Reiner-Horst Scheibe and which also had guest appearances in the Soviet Union .

After the fall of the Wall, Oldag was only able to continue his career with interruptions and on a smaller scale. For example, he performed once a month with his wife Anneliese as part of the spa concert in his new place of residence, Bad Suderode .

Wolfgang Oldag died on August 11, 2008 in a motorway car accident near Goslar ; his wife survived seriously injured.
