Wolfgang Philipp Kilian (born May 1, 1654 in Augsburg , † April 3, 1732 in Königsberg ) was a German engraver who came from the Kilians family dynasty .

Life

Wolfgang Philipp Kilian was a son of the Augsburg copper engraver Philipp Kilian (1628–1692) and his wife Susanne, daughter of the art publisher Elias Lotter. He was a draftsman and engraver in Augsburg, Nuremberg and Königsberg. He had a brother Jeremias Kilian († 1730) who was also a copperplate engraver and, among other things, a portrait of King Friedrich III. from Denmark.

He had several sons:

  • Max Philipp Kilian († 1714, aged 41, engraver)
  • Johann Jakob Kilian (1678–1705, engraver)
  • Johann Friedrich Kilian (1682–1747, goldsmith)
  • Georg Kilian (1683–1745, painter and engraver), the father of Philipp Andreas Kilian (1714–1759).
  • Paul Kilian (1687–1718, engraver)
