Wolfgang Rückert (born August 12, 1942 in Berlichingen / Jagst, municipality of Schöntal ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1996 to 2004 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance in Baden-Württemberg .

After graduating from high school, Rückert completed an apprenticeship in high-level non-technical administration from 1959. He then worked for the Leonberg District Office and the City of Spaichingen . In 1972 he was elected by the municipal council of the city of Leonberg as first deputy for finances, economics and social affairs with the official title of mayor. He held this office until 1992. At that time he was also a district councilor in the Boeblingen district and from 1984 to 1994 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the district council.

In 1992 Rückert was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , of which he was a member until 2006. From 1995 to 1996 he was chairman of the Stuttgart Region Association . In June 1996, Rückert was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance by Prime Minister Erwin Teufel . He held this office until July 2004. His successor was Wolfgang Reinhart .

Rückert is married and has two children.
