Wolfgang Schumacher (born October 5, 1959 in Saarlouis ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). He was a member of the Saarland state parliament from August 30, 2009 to March 25, 2012 .

biography

Wolfgang Schumacher attended primary and secondary school in Saarwellingen between 1966 and 1974 and Saarlouis industrial school from 1974 to 1975 . After finishing vocational school, he began training as a heating engineer in 1975 , which was followed by a job at Ford from 1978 to 1985 ; This was also when I became a member of IG Metall . From 1981 to 1992 Wolfgang Schumacher worked as a video store, then from 1992 to 1998 as a sales representative. From 1998 to 2009 he was employed by the Lear Corporation Saarlouis as a warehouse clerk and deputy shift supervisor, and from 1999 he was the works council chairman.

Political party

From 2005 to 2007 member of the WASG , then in the party Die Linke, u. a. as chairman of the city association. In the state elections in Saarland in 2009 , Wolfgang Schumacher was elected to the state parliament of Saarland in the election in Saarlouis-Roden . For his parliamentary group he was labor market policy spokesman and committee member in the committee for economy and science as well as mine safety, in the committee for work, family, prevention, social affairs and sport as well as in the submission committee . In the early elections in 2012 , he missed re-entry into the state parliament.

In the 2013 federal election , he ran as a direct candidate for the Saarlouis / Merzig-Wadern constituency , but was not elected.

Wolfgang Schumacher was long-time district chairman in the Saarlouis district and a member of the city council of the party Die Linke in Dillingen.
