Wolfgang Thiel (politician)

Wolfgang Thiel (born March 14, 1948 in Felchta ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). From 1995 to 1999 he was state chairman of the PDS Brandenburg and from 1999 to 2004 and again from 2008 to 2009 a member of the Brandenburg state parliament .

Life and work

From 1962 to 1966 he completed his Abitur with vocational training as a fitter . He then studied physics at the Leningrad State University until 1969 . From 1969 he studied for two years at KMU Leipzig , subsequently power plant technology at the engineering college in Zittau and finally from 1985 to 1987 social sciences at the party school in Moscow .

He is married for the second time and has a child from his first marriage.

Political party

From 1987 to 1989 he was an employee of the district management of the SED Cottbus . In 1989 he became the first secretary of the SED district leadership. He held this position until 1990. Then he was elected deputy state chairman of the PDS Brandenburg. From 1995 to 1999 he was finally PDS state chairman in Brandenburg.

MP

In 1999 he became a member of the state parliament in Brandenburg for the first time. In the 2004 state elections, he initially missed re-entry. He then moved up in August 2006 for the late MP Christian Otto and remained in the state parliament until the end of the 2009 legislative period.
