Wolfgang Zacharias

Wolfgang Hans Zacharias (born October 28, 1941 in Gauting ; † April 26, 2018 ) was a German art and culture educator .

Life

Wolfgang Zacharias came from the Regensburg artist and painter family Zacharias. He was the son of the graphic artist and educator Alfred Zacharias and his wife Irmgard, grandson of the court photographer Rudolf Zacharias and nephew of the painter Günther Zacharias (1913–1943). His brother is the artist and university professor Thomas Zacharias , his sister Veronika Zacharias is a painter.

Zacharias studied in Munich , Stuttgart and Paris and did a doctorate in philosophy. He was a co-founder of the KEKS and Pädaktion initiatives, also chairman of the educational campaign SPIELkultur eV, deputy chairman of the regional association for cultural education Bavaria eV, chairman of the federal association of youth art schools and cultural educational institutions (BJKE Unna), member of the spokesman's council of the Bavarian regional group of the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft eV and since 2005 honorary professor at the University of Merseburg for cultural education / play education and worked here in teaching (BA in culture and media education , MA in applied media and cultural studies). From 1983 to 2006 he was employed in the cultural department of the state capital Munich.
