Wolfgang Zocher

Wolfgang Heinz Zocher (born August 19, 1944 in Wuppertal ) is a German industrial clerk (qualified undertaker at the Düsseldorf Chamber of Crafts ) and worked as an undertaker in Wuppertal.

Zocher Bestattungen has existed as a family business since 1905 in the Arrenberg district of Wuppertal . Zocher also managed the Bathen funeral parlors in Wuppertal (four funeral directors).

Zocher was initially Vice President until 1990–1993, then President of the Federal Association of German Undertakers (BDB) until 2005 , Claus-Dieter Wulf succeeded him. Zocher, who was no longer running, was elected honorary president. He was also President of the European Federation of Funeral Services (EFFS) and from 1993–1999 a member of the Board of Directors of the European Undertaker Union (EBU) and then President until 2005. From 2002 to 2004 he was President of the World Association of Undertakers (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Thanatoloques (FIAT) and he International Federation of Thanatologists Associations (IFTA)), where he is now honorary president.

He was also a board member of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Skilled Crafts from 2006 and has been a member of the Chamber's General Assembly since 2001. From 2001 to 2004 he was a member of the Presidium of the Central Association of German Crafts . In addition to working as an independent undertaker, he is chairman of the supervisory board of Bestattungsvorsorge Treuhand AG, Düsseldorf.

The Zocher funeral home is now (as of 2014) run by his son Arne (* 1971).
