Wolfgang de Boor

Wolfgang de Boor (born February 23, 1917 in Schürsdorf ; † May 7, 2014 in Cologne ) was a German psychiatrist , professor of forensic psychiatry and criminology at the University of Cologne and judicial expert .

Life

Wolfgang de Boor completed his Abitur at the Philippinum grammar school in Marburg in 1935. After his military service he began to study medicine in Marburg and Jena in 1937, which he completed in 1941 with a state examination and doctorate. During the Second World War he worked as a medical officer until 1945. He then took up a psychiatric specialist training in Heidelberg and completed his habilitation in 1950 in Cologne. In 1958 he became an Apl. Appointed professor . Since then he has been consulted as an expert in numerous court cases. After additional legal studies from 1963 to 1967 in Cologne, he founded the Institute for Conflict Research in 1969 and has been the editor of the series of publications that appeared there since 1974. In 1980 he was appointed professor for life. De Boor was married to Marianne Countess Gežek von Rittersfeld (1919-2016).
