Wolfram Bühler (born May 3, 1952 in Goldbach (Lower Franconia) ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

biography

Wolfram Bühler was born in Goldbach near Aschaffenburg. Today he lives in Hösbach- Feldkahl in the nearby Vorspessart .

technology

The freelance artist's drawings, executed with ink and colored pencil, are dominated by geometric elements, checkerboard patterns and seemingly organic shapes. In addition to the use of pastel tones and white, the color black plays a key role, and the application of this color gives the presented rooms a spherical depth.

Like a mandala , the works are dominated by circles and squares, which in their synthesis are a symbol of comprehensive wholeness .

Starting from a central point, Bühler builds up his constructions like an expansion towards the edges of the picture in order to finally design them with colored pencil and ink in an almost infinite wealth of detail.

His drawings occupy a special position in modern art . There are very different echoes in them, such as the psychedelic art of the late 1960s, Art Nouveau and Op Art , Gothic and Renaissance .

Self-image

Bühler refers to mystical experiences that he had in his childhood and processed through his pictures. Since drawing with Indian ink does not allow for corrections, a high degree of concentration and precision is required, which leads to a mental purification process - and thus to the subjectively essential.

He likes to use the comparison with a pilgrim who consciously chooses the most difficult ( Buddhism ) or painful ( Catholicism ) path in order to achieve a maximization of inner purification.

The core of the message is of humanitarian origin and all considerations that are hidden in it give the viewer an insight into the concept of humanity .
