Volodymyr Pantelej
Volodymyr Pantelej ( Ukrainian Володимир Пантелей ., English transcription Volodymyr Panteley; * 3. May 1945 in Zolochiv , Kharkiv Oblast ; † 17th April 2000 ) was a Ukrainian middle distance runner , who for the Soviet Union launched, and to the 1,500-meter distance specializes would have.
At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 , he was tenth, and at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1970 in Vienna, he won bronze. In 1971 he won silver at the European Indoor Championships in Sofia and came back to tenth place at the European Championships in Helsinki .
At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he finished eighth and at the 1974 European Championship in Rome, fifth.
In 1969 and 1972 he was the Soviet champion.
