Wolyzja (Ukrainian Волиця ; Russian Волица / Woliza , Polish Lacka Wola ) is a village in the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine with about 1000 inhabitants.
The village is located in the west of the historical Galician landscape in Mostyska district on the Zelenyi River (Zelena), about 6 kilometers west of the Mostyska district center and 68 kilometers west of the Lviv oblast center.
On 29 October 2017, the village became the center of the newly established rural community Wolyzja (Волицька сільська громада / Wolyzka silska hromada ), this also includes nor the two villages Mostyska Druhi (Мостиська Другі) and Tschtschenez (Тщенець), until then it belonged to District municipality of Chechenets .
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1433, was initially in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , Ruthenian Voivodeship , and came in 1772 as Lacka Wola to the then Austrian crown land of Galicia (until 1918 in the Mościska district ).
After the end of the First World War he came to Poland , was here from 1921 as Lacka Wola in the voivodeship Lemberg , Powiat Mościska , Gmina Mościska and was only occupied by the Soviet Union in World War II and from 1941 to 1944 by Germany and the Galicia district connected. After being reconquered by Soviet troops in 1944, it came back to the Soviet Union in 1945 and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR , since 1991 the place has been part of today's Ukraine. In 1946 it was renamed to its current name.
