geography
course
The Woogbach rises in the Wasgau west of Bobenthal in a forest area at an altitude of 232.4 m above sea level. NN . It initially flows in a southeast direction. Almost two hundred meters later it joins a second source branch, which flows towards it on its right side. The Woogbach now flows along the western slope of the Mittelberg ( 316 m above sea level ). To the east of Bärenbühl it forms a small woog into which another forest stream joins. A good kilometer down the stream, northwest of Gewann Im Sang , the river flows through a somewhat larger second Woog. The stream now runs eastwards on the southern slope of the Mittelberg through the Woogwiesen . It now reaches the western edge of Bobenthal, still flows around the Mühlkopf and finally flows underground, piped at an altitude of 179 m above sea level. NN from the right into the Wieslauter .
Catchment area
The 4.991 km² catchment area of the Woogbach lies in the Wasgau and is drained through it via the Lauter and the Rhine to the North Sea.
