The Wop ( Russian Вопь ) is a right tributary of the Dnepr in the Russian Oblast of Smolensk .

The Wop rises on the edge of the Smolensk Heights . It flows mainly in a southerly direction. The upper course lies in the middle of a swampy landscape. In the lower reaches it flows through a wide valley, flanked by meadows and forests, and occasionally also by marshland. The city of Jarzewo is located on the lower reaches . There the Tsarevich flows into the river from the right. Finally, the Wop flows into the upper reaches of the Dnepr on the right.

The wop has a length of 158 km. It drains an area of ​​3300 km². The mean discharge at the mouth is 22 m³ / s. In the spring, at least in the past, the river was used for rafting .
