The Turkish-language daily newspaper Zaman was first printed and distributed in Ankara in 1986. It initially appeared in an edition of 15,000. In the meantime she ran her own printing works in Istanbul, Izmir, Adana and other cities and was at the top of the print media in Turkey with a circulation of over 800,000.

In 1992 the "Zaman-Verlags- und Handels-GmbH" was founded as a subsidiary of the Turkish publisher Feza Gazetecilik AS (Print). This was followed by stations in Neu-Isenburg and Mörfelden-Walldorf. Since the Turkish media transport their daily newspapers to all of Europe by air, the Rhine-Main area was chosen as the European headquarters due to its proximity to the airport.

It acquired Zaman Verlags- und Handels-GmbH from the sole shareholder Feza Gazetecilik AS in Turkey and acted as a licensee to them. At the same time, she acquired the license rights for the television station Samanyolu TV Avrupa from the parent company in Turkey and has since continued the television business as Peyk Media GmbH.

Ebru TV (later until QLAR ceased broadcasting ) and Samanyolu TV Avrupa received German broadcasting licenses from the Hessian State Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media in 2008 . 2010 was the start of the German and English-language lifestyle and culture channel Ebru, which broadcasts via the Eutelsat Hot Bird 13A satellite and, since March 1, 2013, via Astra 1M .

At the end of November 2016, the German-language edition of Zaman was discontinued and 70 employees were laid off.
