World Scout Bureau

The World Scout Bureau is one of the three principal organs of the World Scout Organization World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). It acts on behalf of the World Scout Conference and the World Scout Committee .

The World Scout Bureau is located in Geneva , Switzerland , with regional offices in six areas around the world: Africa Region ( Nairobi in Kenya ), Arab Region ( Cairo in Egypt ), Asia-Pacific Region ( Manila in the Philippines ), European Region (Geneva in Switzerland), Inter-American Region ( Santiago de Chile ) and Eurasia Region ( Yalta - Hursuf in Ukraine ). The World Scout Bureau is headed by the Secretary General who is assisted by a small group of technical staff.

The office helps scout associations through targeted training to improve and expand their scouting work. The training courses are aimed at both full-time employees and volunteers. The focus is on the creation of a solid financial policy and money increase techniques, the improvement of the association's work and the way of acting, as well as the assistance in the procurement of public funds for the scout work. The office staff arrange worldwide events and the so-called World Scout Jamborees , they initiate regional events and act as a liaison between the scout movement and other international organizations. A major effort in emerging economies is to develop general good deed into an organization- wide endeavor to contribute to social development.
