Wortart Ensemble is a German a cappella quartet. It was founded in 2008 as a quintet .

Their settings of contemporary German poetry somewhere between chanson , classical and jazz earned the vocal ensemble numerous prizes. The formation was founded while the founding members were studying jazz singing at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden . After the self-released debut album in 2011, the collaboration with the lyricist Nora Gomringer for the CD Wie sag ich Wunder and concert tours in Germany, Canada and the USA followed.
