Wout Van Dessel (born October 19, 1974 in Lier , Belgium ) is a Belgian DJ , producer , remixer and songwriter . As a DJ he is known by his stage name DJ Wout . Internationally, he became known as a producer and songwriter primarily through the Belgian formation Sylver .

history

Van Dessel started his work in 1990 and worked as a DJ in various cult clubs in Belgium, for example in “Carat” and “Illusion” (where he is still resident DJ ). He also appeared at major international events such as the Love Parade in Berlin and completed a tour of South Africa and Russia . In 1999 he met the then 18-year-old singer Silvy de Bie in his club “Illusion” , since then they have both worked together and released in 2000 under the synonym Liquid feat. Silvy released her first song entitled Turn the Tide . This song immediately reached number 1 in the Flemish charts and after the name was changed to "Sylver", this song also reached the top 10 in Germany and sold over 500,000 times. The accompanying album "Chances" was in the German top 100 for a total of 49 weeks. To this day, Wout Van Dessel and Silvy de Bie are among the most successful artists from Belgium and have so far achieved seven top 20 hits in Germany and sold over 2 million records.

Wout Van Dessel is a big sports fan and at 1.92 m he played basketball himself.
