Wu Wei (architect)

Wu Wei ( Chinese  吴蔚 , Pinyin Wú Wèi , * 1971 , Lanzhou , Gansu , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese architect . As a partner of the German architecture firm Gerkan, Marg und Partner (gmp), he is responsible for its activities in the People's Republic of China.

Study and job

Wu Wei completed his architecture studies in Chongqing , China, in 1992 . He then worked at the Gansu Institute of Architectural Design in Lanzhou / Gansu until 1994 . From 1994 to 1995 Wu Wei learned German in Switzerland and from 1995 to 1997 studied architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich . Between 1997 and 2000 he worked for Skyline Architecture and SwissGerman Consulting , both based in Zurich. In 2000 he received his diploma at the ETH Zurich at the chair of Professor Mario Campi . In 2000, Wu Weis started working for the German architects Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp). In 2001 he became chief representative of the gmp offices in Beijing and Shanghai, an associated partner in 2004 and has been partner for China at gmp since 2009 .
