Wuchuan
Wuchuan ( Chinese 吴川 市 , Pinyin Wúchuān Shì ) is an independent city in the predominantly Yüeh -speaking Chinese province of Guangdong with an area of 848 km² and approx. 1.01 million inhabitants (end of 2003). At the census in 2000, 822,482 inhabitants were counted.
Wuchuan belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Zhanjiang . It is the birthplace of Imperial China's first ambassador to the United States , Chen Lanbin.
