The Wurbauerkogel is a mountain in southeastern Upper Austria . With a height of 858 m above sea level. A. it is the local mountain of Windischgarsten and the Windischgarsten basin .
location
The Wurbauerkogel rises in the municipal areas of Windischgarsten and Rosenau am Hengstpaß in the Kirchdorf an der Krems district . The closest valley village is Windischgarsten.
Tourist development
The Wurbauerkogel is a popular hiking and excursion destination. It can be reached from Windischgarsten in less than an hour via several hiking trails. There is also a road leading up the mountain. At the summit there is a restaurant, a snack station, the observation tower and the mountain station of the chair lift . The route of the summer toboggan run and the specially created bike park, downhill mountain bike routes of various difficulty levels , also begin here . 3D archery is offered on the archery range. There is also a via ferrata park at the Bannholzmauer.
Chairlift
The one-seater chairlift, built in 1957 and now nostalgic, leads from the center of Windischgarstner to the summit.
Summer toboggan run
The 1,523 meter long summer toboggan run with a height of 233 meters was built in 1980. It leads from the chairlift mountain station at the summit to the valley station in Windischgarsten. It has one and two-seater tobogganing and has 16 bends and is one of the longest summer toboggan runs in Europe.
Alpine coaster
The Alpine Coaster with two-person sled built in 2004 is 760 meters long and has a height difference of 63 meters. The route has 3 roundabouts, 7 banked turns, 3 jumps, 6 bridges and 10 waves, speeds of up to 40 km / h are achieved.
Panorama tower
The panorama tower observation tower is 21 meters high, glazed and has a passenger elevator. A panoramic view of the Windischgarstner Basin and 21 2000er peaks can be seen from the platform, an outdoor viewing terrace.
