Wyhratal was a municipality until it was incorporated into the city of Borna in the district of Leipzig (Free State of Saxony ). Between 1993 and 2003 it was an independent municipality with the districts of Neukirchen, Wyhra, Thräna and Zedtlitz. On January 1, 2004, the municipality Wyhratal was incorporated into Borna.

history

The community Wyhratal was created on December 1, 1993 through the merger of the communities Neukirchen-Wyhra with the districts of Neukirchen and Wyhra and Zedtlitz with the districts of Zedtlitz, Plateka and Raupenhain. On July 1, 1997, the municipality of Thräna was incorporated, to which, in addition to Thräna, the corridor of Blumroda , which was devastated by the Borna-West opencast mine from 1952 to 1957 , was part.
