Xiahou Ba ( Chinese  夏侯霸 ) was a commander of the Chinese Wei Dynasty at the time of the Three Kingdoms . He came from the leading general family Xiahou , but fled to the Shu Han during the political instability of Luoyang City .

Xiahou Bas' father was the great Wei General Xiahou Yuan , and his mother was a stepsister of Cao Cao . Together with his four brothers, Xiahou Ba took over part of his troops after his father's death in the Battle of Mount Dingjun ( 219 ).

In 220, Xiahou Yuan's eldest son Xiahou Heng was given a piece of land, so that Xiahou Ba, the younger son of his father, inherited titles and earned a living from taxpayers' money from 800 households. In the 240s , during Cao Shuang's reign, he became the Right General and Marquis of Bochangting. He was seen as a follower of Cao Shuang. After Sima Yi's coup in 249, Xiahou Bas' nephew Xiahou Xuan was killed and Xiahou Ba fled to Shu, where he was kindly received by Liu Shan as the cousin of Shu general Zhang Fei's wife . He in turn married a daughter of Zhang Fei and named his son the nephew of the Xiahou family . Xiahou Ba was named general of the charioteers and cavalry .

Xiahou Bas' sons, who remained in the Wei Empire, were not killed because of their grandfather's merits, but merely exiled to Lelang Province in what is now North Korea .
