Quotes about Yahya Kemal
- Yahya Kemal is an apt example of how even moderate classicism can flourish on Turkish soil. His poems, few in number, but of the highest perfection in form, in their sweet clarity form a diametrical contrast to the rough, stammering poems of the Turanians . They stand on the common ground of world literature and world culture, while the nationalistic poetry of Turania only emphasizes what divides and what is hostile to other nationalities.
