Yang Senlian
Yang Senlian (ch .: 杨森 莲, * 1990 ) is a Chinese wrestler . She is three-time Asian champion in the weight classes up to 55 and 59 kilograms.
Career
Yang Senlian started wrestling in 2000 as a teenager. Since then she has been trained mainly by Wei Chenyang. She is a member of the Guang Xi Province wrestling team. At a size of 1.62 meters, it wrestles in the weight class up to 55 kilograms, but sometimes also moves into the weight class up to 59 kilograms.
In 2007 she was used for the first time at an Asian Cup at the age of 17. She won in Bishkek in the weight class up to 59 kg in front of Dordschiin Narmandach from Mongolia and Kei Yamana from Japan and thus became Asian champion for the first time. After that it was not used in any other international championships until 2010. In May 2010 she won in New Delhi in the weight class up to 55 kilograms ahead of Chikako Matsukawafrom Japan her second Asian championship. In that year she was used in the same weight class at the World Championships in Moscow. But there she lost her first fight against Jill Gallays from Canada. Above all, she was surprised by her high defeat with 2:11 points, which meant that she only finished 18th at this world championship.
In 2012 Yang Senlian came in second at the Asian Championships in Gumi in the weight class up to 59 kilograms behind Kayoko Shimada from Japan. In doing so, she left behind such strong wrestlers as Aiym Abdildina from Kazakhstan and Enchbajaryn Tsewegmid from Mongolia. In May 2012, she competed in Helsinki at the last qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in London in the weight class up to 55 kilograms. She was well on the way to qualifying for these games, but then lost her last fight against the previously unknown Brazilian Joice Souza da Silva, slipping to 3rd place. The 2nd place would have been enough for the Olympic qualification.
In 2013 Yang Senlian won her third championship title at the Asian Championships in New Delhi in the weight class up to 55 kilograms, ahead of Kanako Murata, Japan, Han Kum-Ok , North Korea and Babita Kumari from India.
