Yasang Chökyi Monlam

Yasang Chökyi Monlam ( . Tib g.ya 'bzang chos kyi lam smon * 1169 , † 1233 ) applies in addition to his teacher Kelden Yeshe Sengge († 1207) as the founder of Yasang Kagyu -Schule ( Tib. : G.ya' bzang bka 'brgyud ), one of the so-called "eight smaller schools" of the Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism ( Vajrayana ). The Yasang Monastery he founded in Yartö ( yar stod ; the region of the upper Yarlung in southern central Tibet), in today's Nêdong (Nedong) district of Shannan (Lhoka), is the founding monastery of this tradition.
