Course of the road
|
The Yass Valley Way is a connecting road in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales . It connects the town of Yass with the Hume Freeway in Manton .
course
At Manton , the Yass Valley Way branches off the Hume Freeway (N31) to the southwest. Southeast of Yass he reaches the Barton Highway (N25). It crosses the Yass River and turns to the northwest. Through the city of Yass, where it crosses the Yass River again, it leads to the connection to the Hume Freeway (N31) northwest of the city.
history
The road was built in the early 1990s when the northern bypass of the Hume Freeway was built for Yass. This removed a massive bottleneck on the highway.
