Yeni Salihlispor is a Turkish football club from the Salihli district in the Manisa province . From 1984 to 1985 the club was a permanent member of the TFF 1st Lig and has played in the regional amateur league since 2002. During his time in the 1st league, Yeni Salihlispor was the most prestigious club in the Manisa province and was only overtaken by the later first division club Manisaspor in the 2000s . The Green-Whites play their home games in the Ramiz-Turan Stadium .
history
founding
The association was founded in 1980 through the merger of the two local associations Salihli Sanayispor and 5 Eylül SK in the district town of Salihli . Since a local association already existed with Salihlispor , which contained the city name in the association name and this did not want to participate in the merger, it was decided to name the newly founded association Yeni Salihlispor (German: The New Salihlispor ). The club colors were green and white. The following four seasons after the club was founded, the club played in the regional amateur league.
Entry into professional football
In the summer of 1984 the club reached the championship of the regional amateur league and rose for the first time in the club's history in the second highest Turkish league, then known as the 2nd league .
Second division game years
In the 2nd league , the club established itself as a long-term member and always occupied safe non-relegation places in the middle or upper table segment. In the 1995/96 season they reached the play-offs of the 2nd Lig, in which the third and last climber was played by knockout system . Here they were eliminated in the quarterfinals against Elazığspor .
With the season 1968/69 you began to play against relegation. After 1968/69 and 1969/70 still succeeded in relegation, they missed relegation in the 1970/71 season and rose to the newly founded third division, the 3rd league .
Systemic relegation to the TFF 3rd Lig
Since Turkish professional football was to undergo fundamental changes in the 2001/02 season, preparations for this change were made in the 2000/01 season. So far, professional football in Turkey has consisted of three leagues: the top division, the single-lane Türkiye 1. Futbol Ligi , the second-rate five-lane and two-stage Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi and the third-rate, eight -lane Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi . For the 2001/02 season, professional football was expanded to four professional leagues. While the Türkiye 1. Futbol Ligi remained unchanged, the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi was now in the second highest division, the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi Aategorisi (to German: 2. Football League Category A of Turkey ), and the third highest division , the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi Bategorisi (to German: 2. Football League Category B of Turkey ), divided. The subordinate Türkiye 3rd Futbol Ligi was henceforth the fourth highest division, the TFF 3rd Lig . All teams that were in the relegation groups of the 2nd Lig table bottom, relegated to the TFF 3rd Lig.
Fourth league period and relegation to amateur football
Relegated to the TFF 3rd Lig Yeni Salihlispor also missed relegation here and was relegated to the regional amateur league as penultimate.
