Yenice ( Kurmanji : Xerabya or Xarabya , dt. Kherabya or Kharabya ) is a jesidisches village in the province of Mardin in southeastern Turkey in Tur Abdin mountain range. Around 100 families lived in the place until 20 years ago. The inhabitants of the village were all Yazidis . In the course of the clashes between the Kurdish underground organization PKK and the Turkish army, all the residents gradually left the village and almost exclusively emigrated to Germany. In 2009 the village was abandoned and derelict. Nomads occasionally used it as accommodation.
location
Yenice is about 1.3 km southeast of Oyuklu (Taqa). After Midyat in the northwest is about 9 km away.
