Yeongdeungpo-gu ( Korean 영등포구 ) is one of the 25 districts of Seoul , it is located south of the Hangang . The island of Yeouido , on which the Korean parliament is located, forms part of its area .

Yeongdeungpo is the seat of the public service broadcaster Korean Broadcasting System (KBS). The private broadcaster Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is based on Yeouido. The daily newspaper Kukmin Ilbo is also based in Yeouido-dong .

In the Hangang Park on Yeouido, the Cherry Blossom Festival takes place in April and the International Fireworks Festival takes place in October.
