Yes Sir, I Can Boogie is a disco song by Frank Dostal and Rolf Soja from 1977, which was sung by the Spanish vocal duo Baccara . The single is one of the best-selling singles of all time, with an estimated 18 million units sold.
Emergence
Soja produced the song that became the disco standard. It was a big hit across Europe and reached number one on the charts. a. in the UK and Germany. In the United States, however, the title failed to make it onto the charts despite different radio airtime in different markets.

- In 1978 the Czech singer Věra Špinarová recorded the cover version of Já mám ráda boogie .
- In 1977, a sound-like version of the song was recorded on the album Top of the Pops, Volume 62 by unnamed studio singers and musicians. When the album was released on iTunes in 2008, it was credited to Top of the Poppers .
- In 1981 Brotherhood of Man recorded the song for their album 20 Disco Greats / 20 Love Songs .
- In 1985 Alexander Bard recorded the song for his album Barbie .
- In 1990, Paola Felix recorded the song as Raffaella together with producer Jack White for the show Understanding Fun .
- In 1993, the more transgender Israeli singer Dana International recorded the song on her first album Dana International .
- The ABBA imitation Björn Again recorded a cover version that appears on the second disc of their double album Flash Back! / Live .
- In 1999 the hip-hop group Five Stars deluxe published their own interpretation of the song in the compilation Pop 2000 - That's Only One , which was created for the television documentary Pop 2000 ( 50 years of pop music and youth culture in Germany ).
- In 2000, Nina Miranda of Smoke City produced a famous cover version as the soundtrack of the film Born Romantic .
- In 2003 Goldfrapp released a live cover version with the deviating title "Yes Sir" on the Dutch version of their album Black Cherry .
