Yeshi Esayias

Yeshi Esayias (born December 28, 1985 ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner .

In 2007 she came second in the Marrakech Marathon in 2:40:10 h and in the Ottawa Marathon third in 2:36:57 h. The following year she won in Marrakech with a time of 2:35:40 h and was fifth in Ottawa in 2:35:37 h. At the end of the season, she won the Montreal Marathon .

In 2009 Esayias defended her title in Marrakech with 2:29:52 h for the first time under the 2:30 hour mark, won the Daegu Marathon in 2:30:44 h and finished the Taipei International Marathon with 2:30 : 05 set a course record.

In her second win in Daegu in 2010, she managed to further improve her personal record to 2:29:17. Later in the season, she finished fourth in the Taiyuan Marathon and defended her title in Taipei. In 2011 she was second in Daegu and the Beijing Marathon . In 2012 she finished second in the Tokyo Marathon with her personal best of 2:26:00 and won in Ottawa.
