Yoko Higuchi-Zitzmann ( Japanese 洋子 ・ 樋 口 = ツ ィ ッ ツ マ ン, 樋 口 洋子 ; born May 31, 1971 in Hyōgo , Japan ) is a German- Japanese film producer .

Life

Higuchi-Zitzmann studied as a scholarship holder of studienstiftung law in Bonn , Lausanne and at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich . In 1999 she began her professional career as an acquisition manager at Prokino Filmverleih GmbH and supported the management in international film purchases for five years. In 2004 she moved to Constantin Film AG and was in charge of international film purchasing until 2008. She made a decisive contribution to the establishment of commercial arthouse titles such as Die Kinder des Monsieur Mathieu , Motorcycle Diaries (German title: Die Reisen des Junge Che) and La vie en rose (director: Olivier Dahan ), which won two Oscar awards in 2008 and received a nomination and a Golden Globe .

As head of film rights trading at Telepool GmbH, she was responsible for the company's international expansion. From 2010, Higuchi-Zitzmann set up the cinema production department at Ziegler Film GmbH & Co KG together with Tanja Ziegler and introduced numerous development processes for cinema productions. In addition, she realized the film Frisch gepresst (2012) together with producer Regina Ziegler, distributed by Disney and Mein Blind Date mit dem Leben (2017) together with producer Tanja Ziegler and executive producer Anja Föringer, distributed by Studio Canal . The latter was seen by over 900,000 moviegoers in German-speaking countries and received two Bambi nominations.

Yoko Higuchi-Zitzmann has been working as a producer and executive producer at Letterbox Filmproduktion GmbH , which belongs to the Studio Hamburg production group, since 2018 .
