Yosuga no Sora ( Japanese ヨ ス ガ ノ ソ ラ , Eng. "Heaven of the means; Heaven of (blood) relatives") is an eroge - Ren'ai adventure developed by Sphere , which was published at the end of 2008 for the PC with Windows as the operating system. The plot of the game has been adapted as a manga series of the same name as well as an anime television series.

action

The two siblings Haruka and Sora are suddenly orphans in a tragic car accident, which Sora in particular finds difficult to cope with. This causes the boy and protagonist of the game Haruka to sell his parents' new house. So both return to their original, rural home. While Haruka tries to draw strength from the thoughts of the past, this is not an easy decision for Sora, who clings to the present, which she follows reluctantly. In particular, this forces her to seek support in the arms of her brother. She seldom leaves the house and is unable to attend school, while her brother revives old acquaintances. So he quickly finds himself in the midst of several admirers, which brings Sora to the edge of despair.

She is very averse to the schoolgirls Nao, Akira, Kazuha and Motoka and tries to win her brother as a lover herself. From this point on, the action of the game separates into five main directions, at the end of which he has built up an intimate relationship with one of the girls, and this results in corresponding consequences for his sister.

In the anime, a mixture of all five plot sections was chosen.

Characters

Haruka Kasugano ( 春日 野 悠 , Kasugano Haruka )
He is the protagonist of Yosuga no Sora and has a slim, raised appearance, which quickly makes him a crush on the girls in the village. Outwardly, he is very similar to his sister Sora. He has a very open personality and has no problems making new friends quickly. He takes the fact that his parents have died very calmly and draws his motivation from giving his ailing sister a new future.
Sora Kasugano ( 春日 野 穹 , Kasugano Sora )
In contrast to her brother, Sora is a very quiet, fragile and quickly withdrawn girl. Since she was born, she has suffered from an illness that has weakened her body and denied her a life in freedom. Accordingly, as a child, she developed a strong affection for her brother and dolls, which take away the feeling of loneliness. At the same time, she is very stubborn and would rather surf the Internet and eat snacks all day long, which she is denied in the country. Accordingly, Haruka is the only person she can hold on to and tries to stay in contact with her brother in an almost intrusive way, which is why she constantly sends him messages on his cell phone and reacts in panic if she doesn't get an answer. In addition, Sora is mostly at home and often alone when Haruka is not at home. She is jealous when she sees Haruka with other girls.
Nao Yorihime ( 依 媛 奈 緒 , Yorihime Nao )
As a student, she has good grades and swimming skills and has an open affection for Haruka. Both know each other from their childhood and the separation from him already hurt her as a child. At the same time, she is the person who unconsciously attracts Sora's hatred.

Origin and publications

The game Yosuga no Sora was developed by a smaller development team called Sphere . The graphics were created by Takashi Hashimoto and Hiro Suzuhira, while the plot was written by Yukiji Tachikaze and Seiri Asakura. The background music used in the game was composed and arranged by Manack.

The game was first released in Japan on December 5, 2008 for the Windows PC. The pre-orders of the game were provided with additional radio plays.

A continuation or expansion of the game followed on October 24, 2009 under the title Haruka na Sora ( ハ ル カ ナ ソ ラ ).

Adaptations

Manga

Based on the plot of the game, Takashi Mikaze draws a manga series of the same name , which is published in Comp Ace magazine, published by Kadokawa Shoten . So far (as of October 7, 2010) a summary of this was published as Tankōbon on May 26, 2010.

Anime

In 2010, the game was also adapted as an anime television series. It was created under the direction of Takeo Takahashi in the animation studio feel. The speakers in the anime are the same as in the computer game. Since the protagonist of the game was not set to music, as usual, Hiro Shimono took over his role in the series. The first season of the 12 episode series aired on October 4, 2010 on AT-X . A few days later, the stations BS11 Digital and Tokyo MX also began broadcasting with a delay. September 2016 the anime publisher Animoon Publishing announced the release in Germany.

music

A special feature of the anime is that it has both an opening credits and two credits that are shown within one episode. The opening credits used the title Hiyoku no Hane ( 比翼 の 羽 根 ) which was interpreted by Riya from eufonius . The composition and the arrangement comes from Hajime Kikuchi . The title is to be released on October 27, 2010 on the single of the same name together with another piece and an instrumental version each.

The first credit is kept essentially, addresses the drama and was entitled Tsunagu Kizuna ( ツナグキズナ ) from the Dōjinshi group Team.Nekokan featuring Junca Amaoto ( 天乙准花 highlighted). The composition, arrangement and lyrics were dedicated to the pseudonym or the related nyanyannya ( neko "cat", nya (n) , "meow"). Like the first single, this title will be released on October 27, 2010 together with another single of the same name.

At the end of the first credits, there was a short description of the current events from the perspective of one of the female characters in the Chibi style and describes her dream of winning Haruka as a lover, which is intended as a humorous insert. The second end credits are accordingly humorous, making ample use of the style elements Chibi, Super Deformed and Etchi and containing various allusions. Even the Cat-Gun , a hype about a video in which a cat is used like a weapon, can be found in the credits. As a piece of music, the title Pinky Jones ( ピ ン キ ー ジ ョ kam ン ズ ) was used, which was interpreted by Momoiro Clover . The lyrics were written by Straight Murano, while the composition and arrangement were done by Narasaki. The single of the same name was released in November 2010 on the Starchild Records label, which is part of the Kōdansha group.
